Left Wing bias, conscious and weirdly 'unconscious'

(Insert your own byline here re: Pu-, er, Zelensky's 'War on Freedom and Democracy.' )

Although it has not been headlined on the BBC or Sky News websites, some British Papers are reporting the fact that Zelensky has shut down 11 opposition political parties in the Ukraine.

Well, you can use what terminology you wish, The Guardian newspaper  prefers the word 'suspend'

'Ukraine suspends 11 political parties with links to Russia'

It is somewhat vague on who these Parties are though, mentioning only two by name :-

'Most of the parties affected were small, but one of them, the Opposition Platform for Life, has 44 seats in the 450-seat Ukrainian parliament. . . The list of parties banned on Sunday also included the Nashi (Ours) party led by Yevhen Murayev, as well as a number of smaller parties not represented in the parliament.'

The Wikipedia entry on The Guardian begins 'The Guardian is a British daily newspaper. It was founded in 1821 as The Manchester Guardian, and changed its name in 1959'

No mention of its overt Left Wing political affiliation.

This is significant as an example of the conscious Left Wing bias of big 'net.

The first line of Wikipedia's entry on The Epoch Times, a western newspaper founded by Chinese Dissidents, is 'The Epoch Times is a far-right international multi-language newspaper and media company affiliated with the Falun Gong new religious movement. '

Yet in its coverage of the same story, The Epoch Times is much more forthcoming about which Parties have been banned :-

'RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR

Zelensky Announces Ban on 11 Political Parties

Ukrainian president claims opposition parties have ties to Russia

By Jack Phillips

March 20, 2022 Updated: March 20, 2022

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a measure that bans 11 opposition political parties, alleging they have ties to Russia, he announced in a Telegram video posted on March 20.

“Any activity of politicians aimed at splitting or collaborating will not succeed,” he said.

Zelensky also said that “wartime exposes quite well the paucity of personal ambitions of those who try to put their own ambitions” or “their own party or career above the interests of the state,” according to a translation.

The parties that have been banned, he said, include “Opposition Platform—For Life, Sharij’s Party, Nashi, Opposition Bloc, Left Opposition, Union of Left Forces, Derzhava, Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine, Socialist Party of Ukraine, the Socialists, and Volodymyr Saldo’s Bloc,” according to Ukrinform'

One would have thought The Guardian would have been concerned that predominantly Leftist Parties have been 'suspended' (they will not be allowed back), but then it will also deny in the customary blanket fashion that all British MSM outlets now utilise the simple fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are also replete with neo-nazis.

This is a War, alright, Truth being the first casualty from Day One.
